Classical Ringtones

15 tones
Quick answer: Classical ringtones are short tunes from famous old pieces, like Ode to Joy or the Turkish March, played as phone tones. Ours are public-domain melodies in our own new arrangement, free to download as MP3 (Android) or M4R (iPhone).

A classical ringtone gives your phone a touch of elegance. On this page you will find well-known melodies by composers such as Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Grieg and Strauss, rebuilt as short, clear phone tones.

Every melody here was written long ago and is now in the public domain, but each arrangement is new: we wrote the notes out ourselves and synthesised every instrument from scratch. You get strings, piano, plucked harpsichord sounds and bells. Play any tone first, then download it free as MP3 or iPhone M4R.

Public-domain music, our own arrangement

The melodies on this page are hundreds of years old, so the music itself is free for everyone. Recordings by orchestras are a different story: those are protected. That is why we never copy a recording. We write each melody out note by note, choose our own instruments and tempo, and render the sound from scratch. The result is a fresh arrangement that is safe to share and free for you to use.

Choose the right classical tone

  • Calm and graceful: minuets, lullabies and slow strings suit everyday calls.
  • Bright and fast: the Turkish March or a spring theme cuts through a busy room.
  • Dramatic: plucked minor themes feel bold without being loud.

Use a classical tone as an alarm

A gentle minuet or a slow string melody is a pleasant way to wake up. Download the MP3 and pick it in your Clock app. More wake-up ideas are in Alarm tones.

Frequently asked questions

Are these classical ringtones free to use?

Yes. The melodies are in the public domain and the arrangements are our own, so every tone is free and royalty-free for your phone.

Are these recordings by a real orchestra?

No. We do not copy any recording. Each tone is a new arrangement that we synthesised ourselves, so it is safe to share.

Which classical tone is best for a ringtone?

Pick a tune with a clear opening, such as the Turkish March or Ode to Joy. Short, bright melodies are easier to recognise when your phone rings.

Will a classical ringtone work on iPhone?

Yes. Use the M4R download, or on iOS 26 and later download the MP3 and choose Share → Use as Ringtone in the Files app.
